I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences and wanted to do my Master’s degree in the UK and Aberystwyth seemed like an ideal place. Aberystwyth is a great location along the beautiful coastline combined with its rolling moors and wooded valleys.
The MScEcon in Management and Marketing really gives me a fundamental understanding of the business world and how it works. Being a postgraduate is definitely harder and more intense compared to when I was still an undergraduate. Aside from attending lectures and seminars, you will also have to work on assignments, projects and presentations, as well as taking the exams at the end of the semester. There’s definitely more work, but as long as you like what you’re studying, you’ll do fine.
The lecturers here are very enthusiastic and understand their fields of interest very well. They also have the ability to teach and encourage students to develop critical thinking and reasoning, which I really appreciate.
With the high teaching quality, you’ll definitely benefit from this program and it will broaden your perspective and deepen your knowledge about business, which will better-equip you for your future career.
After my Masters I plan to move back to Norway and pursue a career in marketing; probably work as a marketing consultant. I have made so many good friends in Aberystwyth, I feel delighted to be part of such an international group of students.
